Why not leave the standard title of WordPress in this first blog. That is my purpose, to show the work of my brother, Jeffrey Zylstra, to the entire world. Not only his friends, fans and family, but everybody who is interested.
I know it is a bit late, now that he died. But during his life Jeffrey and I did not understand each other very well. He was a real artist, by which I mean, not only talented and full of fantasies, but also living on the edge, weird and crazy. I am the ordinary, common person in this relationship.
Every time we met, it ended in a (oral) fight or discussion. About our youth, our way of living, his problems and fears and our differences. Sometimes I couldn’t take it anymore and just would not pick up the phone. One of our last discussions was about my trip to Sobibor. He did not understand why I wanted to go there. I tried to explain, but that didn’t help. That was in the beginning of 2013.
The years after, until his death, we only spoke a few times with each other. About moving to a new house or the death of my son.
But despite our different characters I did admire his art works. And because we could not have a proper burial, this is my way of saying that I was and am very proud of the talent and works of Jeffrey. I invite you to look at his portfolio. Most of his work has been sold or distributed among his friends, fans and family. If you have good quality pictures please contact me, and I would be very grateful to add them to this site.
